The classical counter knives or also scrapers in the shredder play a key role in the comminution of recycling material and are the counter part of the knife crown. Only if the angle to the rotor is adjusted correctly, the knife crown and the counter knife can optimally cut in order to achieve a good result.

Just as in the case of the knife crowns, also the counter knives and scrapers can be optimized in their forms and the used material in order to achieve the highest possible endurance. This case is ruled by the principle counter knife is not the same as counter knife. Case-hardened variations are a good way to process material with a high fraction of contamination and to avoid undesired breakage. By means of the principle „hard on the outside, soft in the inside“ counter knives can cushion even stronger strokes and don’t break immediately at the front teeth. We also have especially tenacious materials in our range which prolongate the life of the counter knife in the shredder and extend the maintenance intervals. Another option could be the 12% chromium steel which is not absolutely break-resistant but which gives a very high endurance working with material without contamination.
